RYANS REMOVALS was founded in 1969 by Mr Tom Ryan, his wife, Mrs Eileen Ryan and their three sons. Together they helped build a trusted local removal firm based on a reputation, reliability and care in peoples house moves.
1976

Sadly Mr Tom Ryan past away in June 1976 and Ryans Removals was carried on by his wife and two sons. A few years later, Mrs Eileen Ryan and one son retired, leaving Dave Ryan to carry on the business.
Dave continued to follow in his father’s footsteps and took the company to what is it today, recognised as a main player in the Solihull & Birmingham area conducting commercial and domestic relations.

In 1998 Dave Ryan’s daughter, Stacey joined him & helped David to run the business as it started its Journey into Storage and Self-Storage. Stacey progressed into the office manager role helping the company introduce more removal operatives and train them to help service the increase in all types of removal requests.

In January 2000 Dave Ryan’s son Tom Ryan joined the company & worked on the vans and the office to gain experience in both sides of the business. In August 2004 passed his LGV Class 2 test and started regularly driving 7.5 tonne removal trucks up & down the country moving customers just like his father & grandfather once did.

In 2006 Tom Ryan travelled down to the BAR Headquarters in Watford to take part in their Estimating Course to mould together his experience on the vans and the maths and strategy behind cubic measurements in sizing up removals.
From this point Tom become the Commercial Estimator providing quotations and move plans for the ever growing commercial/corporate side of the company.
2010

As of 2010 Ryans Removals Ltd applied for the BS EN 8522 & BS EN 12522 in Quality Standards for Domestic & Commercial moving and joined the BAR Commercial Moving Group as the company started to service more commercial moves and projects. Ryans Removals also relocated their operations to their new purpose-built Self Storage site in Hall Green, Birmingham. This site holds 170 Self access room ranging from 25 SQ FT to 200 SQ FT in one side of the warehouse and the other side of the warehouse holds 200 wooden storage containers which are loaded on to the removal vehicles and loaded at the customers address when coming into store, the only company in Solihull to offer this service, please visit our container page on our website to see how this service works.

As the Self-storage side of the business grew so did the commercial relocation side of the business so Ryans decided to invest in 3 small Maxi Mover vehicles to operate more efficiently in City Centres around hospital sites, school sites and council sites when conducting relocation projects.

2020 - PRESENT
Ryans Removals continue to offer competitive self-storage for the Solihull and Birmingham area, Ryans are always working closely with corporate suppliers suppling relocation project plans and continue to provide a skilled stress free domestic removal experience especially when storage is required due to being able to offer room storage or wooden container storage.

Several years ago we took the decision to expand our home removals business and enter the world of personal storage as this was fast becoming a service many of our customers wanted. We decided that if we were going to enter the self storage industry we wanted to be the best local storage facility that customers would trust to look after their belongings.
